If you got someone who paid to be listed in your directory but had a illegal site, would you accept it and take the money or not accept?

I would not accept as there is no reason too if in fact the website is housing illegal content., simple as that.

I really don't have a blanket answer to this.

Illegal website is far too vague of a concept. If I ran a directory that featured pornography websites, for example, and got a submission for an Iraq based website featuring that content (that is illegal to operate in Iraq), I would by no means deny their right to be listed, even though it is an illegal website in their jurisdiction.

It really just depends. If the website is relevant to my directory and is what they are doing is legal in my jurisdiction, I'd probably allow it. That said, as the directory owner I'd also retain full editorial control over what is published, even for paid members. If there was negative press or something I personally objected to on ethical grounds I might take a different stance.

Any sites that I personally consider questionable don't get accepted. Anything with clear illegal intentions will be removed such as warez or "how to make a bomb" type stuff. I also don't accept any adult content to my directory.

I don't accept illegal sites at all, on any sites, not only a directory. You cannot link to one in the signature, you cannot request a review, I don't want to see the link or discussion about how to circumvent the law in any ways.

In my directories, I am not accepting any illegal sites. I am also not taking adult sites.

I think it's dumb to accept illegal sites. If you do, then it'll end up with so many people making threads, and maybe they buy a bot system, to do it. It's the same with adult sites..

I agree with Craig. While I want to say "no, absolutely not, I would never accept anything illegal," the term "illegal" isn't a black and white issue either. If it's illegal in my area, then I wouldn't accept it, no.

    At least I don't think I would...

What is the meaning of illegal website and how you identify that any site is a illegal website?
